Make a Halloween Spider Wreath

Supply List

  • Grapevine Wreath (I used a small size but use any size you want)
  • Black Paint (preferably spray paint)
  • Craft Glue Dots®
  • Plastic Spiders
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors

The Goods

Begin by spray painting the wreath black. Be sure to get in all the crevices and paint both sides. Allow the wreath to dry thoroughly before attaching the spiders.

Starting to get Creepy
Attach the spiders to the wreath using Glue Dots®. It looks best to attach them in random directions rather than all in one direction.  Be sure to leave a gap where you can later attach the ribbon (if you choose to attach a ribbon for hanging.)
Demonstrating!
Connect the ribbon by creating a loop at the top and secure using a Glue Dot®.

So Close to Completion
If you choose you can fasten the ribbon to the wreath using Glue Dots®. This will prevent the wreath from shifting.
Final Touches
Place a single spider on the ribbon as an accent.

Halloween Decorations and Embellishments

Check out this Halloween Decoration!  It’s an accordion style decoration that stretches about 3 feet in length and stands about 6 inches high.

Here are the steps to take to create this piece. Cover your boards with glossy accents and patterned paper. A Making Memories foam brush and Tm Holtz craft knife were used here to do this. To make the edges even more finished, give them a light sanding with a Making Memories sanding block.

Next gather all types of Halloween-y type embellishments, paint, punches and more. Shown here: Glimmer mist, and crate paper from Tattered Angels. There was a mix of grunge board pieces from Tim Holtz, journaling spots from Little Yellow Bicycle, buttons, stickers and more.

Here you can see how Glue Dots were used for making pinwheel flowers.

This picture shows vintage book paper  being used to create a flower. In the center it was filled with Glossy Accents and faux pearls. The glossy dries clear so all you see are the pearls in the end.

Another great way to use Glue Dots is with Sparkly Fluff from Our Craft Lounge. Here a Glue Dots dispenser was used to place a few dots down around the letter. The pumpkin was then sprinkled with Sparkly fluff.

Next up, to make a really fun flower use some Tattered Angels Haunted Shadow glimmer mist with the paper of your choice.  Mist it, dry it with a heat gun and then crumpled it up.

Last here are a few photos of how to create embellishments. For the skulls- emboss them with vintage photo distress embossing powders, scratched them up and give them pearls for eyes. Dress up some flat stickers by adding paint, vintage book paper and adding more stickers on top with Pop Up Glue Dots. All the letters of the word “Halloween” got painted in black, mod podged, glittered and then mod podged again to keep that glitter from flaking off. The pleated paper and smaller embellishments were attached using with Craft Glue Dots.

How to Make a Halloween Goodie Tin

Supplies:

Adhesive: Pop Up Glue Dots and Glue Dots Glue Lines®

Tin Box: Darice Inc.

Patterned Paper: Colorbok

Die-Cut Embellishments: K & Company

Dimensional Sticker: Jolee’s EK Success

Halloween & solid ribbon: Celebrate It

It’s time for some Halloween fun!

Pick up your favorite Halloween paper and decorate Halloween goodies for your favorite loved one!

To make these just pop into your local craft store and pick up a tin. They come in different sizes.

Turn your patterned paper upside down and traced each side of the tin- this helps you get the correct measurements before adhering your paper.

Use Glue Dots®  “Glue Lines” on the edges of the paper to keep it tightly secured to the tin.

Secure your favorite paper to all four sides. Once this is done you can add your embellishments.Use Glue Dots®  “Pop Ups” to secure several cute Halloween themed die cuts.

Don’t fret….these particular die-cuts were printed on both sides.
Place your pop-ups on all sides before adhering to your tin.

You can also decorate each side of the tin as shown below.

Here’s a look at the back. You can decorate each side differently to add to the Halloween fun!

Don’t forget to add your favorite ribbon. The more the merrier!

These are great for giving to your kiddos, college students, military members, or anyone else that ya love! For more fun please join Glue Dots® on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/GlueDotsFans

Trick or Treat Box Decoration

The idea behind this Halloween decoration is that you’re not quite sure what you’re gonna get when you open the box!  While you can fill the box with treats, it can also be filled with any type of treasure like photos, a mini scrapbook, or memorabilia.

Here’s what I used to create it:

Glue Dots®

One unfinished wood box (found at any craft store)

Basic Grey’s Eerie collection paper

Black cardstock

Acrylic paint (Purple, Black)

Distress ink (Black Soot)

Alcohol ink (Caramel)

Distress Stickles (Rock Candy)

Sizzix die cuts (Spooky House, Picket Fence)

Grungeboard die cut (Skeleton)

Acetate

Chipboard/cardboard

File (for distressing and finishing edges)

Instructions:

1- Paint the inside and outside of the box that will not be covered by paper. (This can be as much or as little as you would like.)

2- Take measurements and using Glue Dots®, add paper to the sections of the box that you would like covered.

3- File edges and shade with distress ink.

4- Punch out assorted die cuts with black cardstock and paint assorted chipboard/cardboard pieces; add Stickles for texture.

5- After drying, add the pieces as desired with Glue Dots®. (Note: Pop Up Glue Dots® help add dimension.)

6- To create a “window” for the top of the box, decorate a chipboard/cardboard shape with alcohol ink (or distress ink) and attach it to a piece of acetate with Mini Glue Dots®.  Attach the assembled window to the box with additional Mini Glue Dots®.

7- Fill with treats or tricks!

Halloween Boo Banner Decoration

Here’s how you can make your own Boo Banner:

1. Cut 8 Banner Shapes from Card Stock. A silhouette was used here to cut these shapes, but you can also find a Cricut cartridge that is similar, or cut rectangles by hand. The shapes measure about 4”x5”.

2. Cut patterned paper a bit smaller than your card stock. Layer on card stock using Craft Glue Dots®. (Echo Park Happy Halloween patterned paper is used here)

3. Cut “BOO” from patterned paper and attach to 3 different banners using Pop Up Glue Dots®. Using pop dots will make your shapes stand away from the background and gives dimension to the banner.

4. Make 5 Halloween themed shapes (a witches hat, cauldron, haunted house, pumpkins/October 31, and a spider were used here). Shapes can be cut with a die cutting machine, printed from your computer, or can be Halloween stickers.  Attach these shapes to the banners using Pop Up Glue Dots®.

5. Now you can embellish your banner.  Embellishments shown here:

- Orange glitter buttons from Doodle Bug on the “B” and last “O” (attached with Permanent Glue Dots®).

- Echp Park Card Stock Stickers- used on the center “O”

- Stickles- Used on the band of the witch’s hat and smoke from the cauldron

- The haunted house is a free down-loadable image from Echo Park.

- The fence is a card stock sticker.

- The pumpkins and October 31st are card stock stickers from Echo Park.

- The October 31st sticker is covered in Diamond Glaze to make it shiny.

- Googly eyes were added to the spider.

6. Hang Banners (Shown here: a photo hanger from Ikea, but ribbon makes an excellent substitute. )
